How to relocate a wedding in a week...

Due to unforeseen and, quite frankly, bizarre amounts of rain these past few weeks the site at Cypress Hills where the reception and camping were is not in good shape (according to the park people). Since a good portion of the day and night was to be spent there we have no choice but to relocate the wedding to REGINA.

I know this might be an inconvenience to many, but hey, it's our wedding and come rain or shine (or flash floods) nothing will stop Faith & Heinrich from tying the knot on July 1st!

A block of rooms has been reserved under LOGAN/BEKKER WEDDING at the Holiday Inn Express on South Albert. They each have 2 queen-sized beds and will be $120/night.

Faith and Heinrich are getting married! Join us in the celebration Thursday, July 1st, 2010!

The ceremony takes place at 3pm in Regina (Grace Mennonite Church)

WEDDING UPDATE!

Hey guys!

The wedding is now less than two weeks away and those of you who are camping (and attending the reception) might like some information on the plan of action. The group campsite, Sleepy Hollow, is located about 3km outside the park and since there is really only one way in or out of the park you're bound to pass it. There is a sign on the road alerting you to its presence, but you have to be looking for it. We have Sleepy Hollow from noon of June 30th until 11am July 2nd, then we ALL must be packed up and out of there by noon because there will be another group wanting to use the site after us.

Be aware that those of you camping overnight from June 30th onwards may be asked to help set up for the reception, many hands make light work! Also, for those who do help out there will be "rehearsal" dinner the night of the 30th of hamburgers, etc. The morning of July 1st there will be some sort of potluck breakfast probably around 10am, but again it is rather communal so be prepared to help out. You will be on your own for lunch, since those involved in the wedding will be focusing on that, but there is a diner in the park and fire pits at Sleepy Hollow. The Alpine Lodge on-site will be off limits after breakfast until the reception (except the bathrooms) in order for us to prepare the food, so please plan lunch accordingly.

The ceremony is at 3pm, within the park at the Amphitheater. The people at the park gate will give you directions and a day-pass for the park is roughly $7. After the ceremony you will be on your own to explore the park until the reception which will be around 5pm at Sleepy Hollow. Remember to bring your picnic blankets to the reception!

Gift Registries

We have been busy, busy, busy!

The invitations are finished, kind of. We still have to draw up maps and get copies made so that quests are able to actually able to locate the wedding.

Plus, we have registered with both Home Outfitters and Ten Thousand Villages for our gift registries. Yay!

Slowly, but surely, this wedding is coming together. I think.

Ten Thousand Villages gift registry

Heinrich and I ventured out into the world for wedding planning today, which involved choosing a font for the invitation stamps and going to Ten Thousand villages to look at possible items to add to the Wedding Gift Registry we have there. Some fantastic stuff indeed, but sadly many of the items in-store cannot be found online! However, gift cards can easily remedy this problem *winkwink nudgenudge*. Nothing like shopping AND doing good at the same time.
